Workplace Injury Management

Our Workplace Injury Management services - provided by Interact Injury Management (IIM) include:

 

 

Recover at Work Programs
  • Assisting employers with the safe, efficient and cost-effective management of recover at work programs for injured workers.

  • An emphasis on collaboration and communication with all stakeholders.

 

Workplace Assessments
  • An assessment to identify functional, environmental, psychological and social demands of a worker’s pre-injury demands and duties.

  • Identifies and assesses appropriate suitable duties to assist with the development of suitable duties plans used to facilitate recovery at work.

  • Gains an understanding of the employer and workers needs to recover at work.

 

Functional Capacity Evaluations
  • Individualised assessment of a worker’s functional capacity, using a series of standardised tests and work specific simulation activities to assess potential to return to suitable work.

  • Assessments may be performed onsite in the workplace or at one of our offices.

 

Initial Needs Assessment
  • Aims to establish rapport and engage the worker early into their recovery at work program.

  • Recommendations are made for strategies to be implemented to overcome barriers to a successful stay at (return to) work.

 

Case Conferencing
  • Face-to-face or telephone communication involving the doctor, injured worker and other stakeholders to discuss and gain agreement to the recovery at work process, facilitate upgrades in medical certification, and agree on strategies to overcome barriers.

 

Vocational Assessments
  • Designed to evaluate an injured worker’s potential by integrating clinical and standardised assessment procedures and instruments to identify achievable return to work goals in the current labour market and environment.

  • Includes identification of a worker’s strengths, work preferences, employment history, transferable skills, and labour market research.

 

Long Duration Claims Management
  • Case management of long term claims, specifically aimed at addressing the factors that impede recovery at work, medical certification upgrades, the development of return to work goals, and assistance with seeking alternative or new employment.

 

Medico Legal Assessments
  • Fair and accurate calculation of a worker’s capacity to earn in an identified labour market area. May include vocational assessment and/or functional assessment.

 

Injury Management Policy Development & Implementation
  • Assistance and advice for employers aiming to improve their injury management procedures.

Mediation & Dispute Resolution
  • Outcome based intervention to develop effective workplace communication strategies.

 

Fitness for Work Assessments
  • Match of job demands to current functional capacity of a worker.

 

Earning Capacity Assessments
  • Incorporating a vocational and functional assessment (where necessary) to assess an injured worker’s capacity to earn.
